Could You Be A Volunteer for Bowes Railway?

Thanks to their kind assistance, volunteers play an essential role in the day to day running of the Bowes Railway site.

Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and help to preserve this scheduled ancient monument.

The Heritage Lottery are investing in Bowes Railway to maintain its heritage assets and enable the development of the museum. This includes delivery of a host of fun activities and opportunities for local community residents and visitors to the site.

  • Share your skills and learn new ones.

Woodwork, Blacksmithing, Restoration, Painting, Tour Guide and the Tearoom team are just a few of the things our volunteers help with.

Please note the museum is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays, but we will respond to any enquiries for volunteering opportunities during our opening hours.
