Time for young people is a service under The Children’s Society which delivers brief emotional wellbeing interventions to children and young people aged 11 to 18 (or 25 for children and young people with SEND, and care leavers) across Gateshead.

We deliver support at our main Gateshead drop in, located at the Metrocentre Community Hub on the following days:
Tuesday 4:30pm to 7:00pm
Wednesday 4:30pm to 7:00pm
Thursday 1:00pm to 4:00pm

At these drop-ins, you will be able to meet with one of our emotional wellbeing practitioners who can help guide you to reach your goals or can support you to overcome challenges you might be facing. This might include:

  • Feeling worried
  • Low self-confidence
  • Struggling with friendships
  • Difficulty managing anger
  • Challenges in communicating emotions
  • Worrying about school
  • and any other emotional wellbeing challenges you may wish to have a chat about

Please pop along and have a look at our hub or meet our practitioners. If you do have any questions or worries about accessing the hubs, feel free to drop us a message so we can help!

To access our support, you will be required to register via our registration form on our website. This can be done with your practitioner during the session if you are 14 or over. If you are 11-13, please bring along a parent or carer who can complete this form on your behalf!
