Whickham and District u3a Men's Group

The Men's Group gathers on the first Monday of each month, having begun in October 2018. Arthur Coulson leads the group, which currently has approximately 12 members.

Typically, they convene in the function room of the Bay Horse on Front Street, Whickham. A speaker usually provides entertainment for the initial 45 minutes, followed by a meal and drinks for most attendees in the main pub area. Additionally, the group organizes occasional excursions, with the most recent being a visit to the Shildon Locomotion.

Past presentations have covered a variety of topics, including The Blood Bikes, Beamish Tramways, The 617 Squadron, Formula 1, Spike Milligan, and the training of Prince Charles with the parachute regiment.
