Microgrants available to VCSE - an opportunity to be part of a holistic offer of support
The first presentation will outline the microgrant process that supports the WorkWell offer in Newcastle and Gateshead. All VCSE are able to apply, not just those with an employment focus.
WorkWell is a government funded initiative offered to people who have a job but currently have a sick note and want help to get back to work. The pilot in the north east recognises longer term health problems can be complex and issues that stop or delay recovery may contribute to or be the cause of the health issue.
One of the key values in the VCSE is the flexible approach, seeing the person as an individual. This is a perfect match for the microgrant approach so the solution offered is right for each individual. Examples of this could be advice for a carer who has struggled to juggle work and home responsibilities, support to get used to public transport, etc.
Mental Health support for staff working in the VCSE
Richard Duggins from Neuro Rehabilitation & Specialist Services at CNTW will give a presentation about the support for staff in the NHS and VCSE sector to look after their own mental wellbeing.
