Our Villages Crawcrook and Greenside is a charity made up of passionate trustees and volunteers who want to improve the local environment and community.
We do this by providing opportunities to learn new skills and make rewarding contributions through volunteering with us. We organise community events such as our annual Crawcrook Fair every September, Easter Egg hunts, Halloween scavenger trails and Christmas lights switch on.
Crawcrook Fair is our main fundraising event, we raise money to cover the cost of the Christmas lights provision (£3.5k each year) and support community improvements. This year Crawcrook Fair will take place Saturday 13th September.
Our volunteers also conduct regular litter picking, tend to the flower beds and planters around the villages and Crawcrook park.
We also fundraise for improvement projects around the villages. We were successful in raising £19k towards new play equipment in Crawcrook Park and £16k for a new play area fence.
Our current projects are creating a community garden in Crawcrook, gardening around the village and running a community cafe at Crawcrook Pavilion.
