Whitehall Road Methodist Church

Whitehall Road Methodist Church is located in the middle of the Bensham area of Gateshead, close to the town centre.

Opened in 1896, we remain a worshipping Christian community where people of all ages feel glad to celebrate God’s goodness together and discover the Good News that Jesus came to bring. We seek to give God praise and glory, whilst providing an atmosphere of reverence and friendliness, and a place where the wider community can feel accepted as they are, and find welcome, hope and friendship.

Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 begins with all-age worship for the first part of the service, then the children and young people leave for their own activities in the Sunday Club, where our trained and DBS-checked leaders entertain, inform, and encourage young people in their faith, and explain the continuing relevance of Jesus Christ in their lives.

We also have a large hall with a stage and adjoining rooms which are heavily used during the week by a variety of community groups, and are available for private parties. Whitehall Road Methodist Church has good disabled access and facilities. We have our own private car park and plenty of free on-street parking surrounding the church.
