Volunteer with Gateshead Libraries this summer!

We're looking for young people aged 16-18 to volunteer with us this summer.

You'll be supporting us with running a range of activities for children, including promoting this year's Summer Reading Challenge.

Volunteering with us will include:

  • Promoting our Summer Reading Challenge to younger children in our libraries and chatting to them about the books they have read
  • Helping with our wide range of children’s activities like checking tickets and setting up rooms

 It's a great way to gain really meaningful work experience and to make a difference to local families in Gateshead.

If you know someone who would be the perfect fit, share with them our expression of interest form. Please note they'll need to state 'Summer Reading Challenge' on the form.
