We are looking for support in person at our office in Sunderland.
You will be able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week, for a minimum of 12 months.
Hours to be agreed with Family Support Manager.
In order to attend Team Meetings you would need to be available to volunteer on Wednesdays.

Please note that we will only process applications from volunteers who are resident in the UK and who have already obtained the relevant immigration permits. We are unable to sponsor Charity Worker Visas.

As a Care Team Administration Volunteer, you will provide administrative support to our North East Care Team, which supports families in County Durham, Northumberland, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Redcar and Cleveland. Your administrative support will enable the team to spend more time with the families who need them.

Your role may include:

  • General administrative tasks
  • Digitising records by inputting data to our case management system
  • Collating information/assessment packs
  • Preparing packs for training
  • Producing promotional materials
  • Answering telephone enquiries  
  • Contacting local businesses and attractions willing to donate their products, time or tickets
  • Supporting the team to grow their presence in the local area by networking with local organisations including schools, churches and community organisations. 
  • Assisting with coordinating family events especially around the school holidays
  • Supporting the Volunteering Team with local volunteer recruitment  

Skills needed

What we’re looking for:
*Experience of working in an office in an administrative role
*Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and willingness to learn our
in-house database
*Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks
*Good communication skills both verbal and written
*Experience of interacting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
*Ability to empathise with families in stressful circumstances
*An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality
*Flexible approach with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team.
