Details

Age 18 years +.

We collect books that are no longer needed by publishers, shops, libraries and individuals and redistribute them free of charge to organisations working with survivors of domestic abuse, people experiencing homelessness, ex-service men and women, former and current prisoners and their families, young offenders, children's homes, hostels for young people, refugees and those applying for asylum, vulnerable adults and children and families using food banks.

We have opportunities for volunteers to help with keeping up with book donations, stamping and sorting books, repairing books, arranging the shelves and contacting local organisations to invite them to visit.

We are open to potential volunteers who have recently been released from prison.  All volunteers will be asked to complete an application form and give the names of two referees.

We are receiving an increasing number of requests for books from people in prison up and down the country and need help in particular with filing letters that come in.
