Big Local Gateshead, Team's Tots Volunteer

Big Local Gateshead operates in Teams and the Racecourse estate in Bensham, and our governing body is made up of people who live or work in that area.  We run a community space on Derwentwater Road, an allotment on Bensham Bank and activities all across the area. 

Team's Tots Parents and Toddler group runs weekly sessions from the Big Local Gateshead Bungalow, Derwentwater Road, NE8 2HQ. These sessions take place on a Tuesday from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

Big Local Gateshead would like some support with the following tasks during the weekly sessions:

• helping the team set up and close the group sessions
• moving children's toys and furniture
• some light cleaning 
• support other volunteers during the weekly session for babies and toddlers
• including help to develop new ideas for sessions or fund raising activities. 

The skills and experience and qualities needed:

• good communication skills
• reliable 
• experience in childcare would be great but not essential so long as you are happy to learn. 

Volunteers will be part of a diverse team working on community projects of all sorts, with staff to help every step of the way. The group can offer training opportunities including first aid, childcare and other skills required. Big Local will process and pay for a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Check that is required for this role.
