Throw yourself into the world of clay with our 5-week Pottery Throwdown Taster Course—a hands-on journey through the essential techniques of ceramic artistry. From the rhythmic build of coiling to the expressive freedom of sculpting, you’ll explore the tactile joy of shaping clay with your own two hands. Learn how to carve and stamp patterns, then bring your creations to life with glazing techniques that add colour, texture, and personality. Whether you're a curious beginner or looking to improve your skills , this course is the perfect way to dip into pottery and discover your creative spark.

  • Pinch Pot Technique – Start with a ball of clay and pinch it into a small bowl or cup shape, great for beginners. This is the oldest technique for pottery.
  • Wheel Throwing – Use a potter’s wheel and learn the basics of throwing a pot on the wheel.
  • Coil Building – Roll clay into long coils and stack them to build larger vessels or decorative pieces.
  • Slab Construction – Roll out flat slabs of clay and cut them into shapes to assemble boxes, trays, or geometric designs.
  • Glazing: Learn the basics of glazing
