We are a mixed voice choir who practise at Thorp Academy (Main Road, Ryton) (Tuesday evenings, 6.50- 9.00) and sing 3 concerts a year in the local area.

There are no formal auditions - you can just turn up and join in! We are led by Alastair Lord, a young, vibrant conductor who leads a variety of local musical  groups. His assitant, and our accompanist, is Kris Thomsett, assitant organist at Newcastle Cathedral. Our repertoire is mainly classical but we do also sing some more 'popular' music at times - for example, Gershwin and Cole Porter have been known to feature and we recently sang Alastair's arrangement of West side Story.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our music and the standard of soloists and orchestral players that we engage to sing with us. There is a termly fee paid by choir members. Currently this is £42 per term - but for this you get at least 10 practice sessions, which are a true learning experience with our outstanding conductor and accompanist!
