About us ......... Greenside Community Centre is at the heart of the village – on the corner at the junction between Woodside Lane & Lead Road. The building was gifted to the community by Durham Miners Welfare in the 1960’s and provides a comfortable, fully accessible environment for use by all residents of Greenside and the wider area.

The Centre is operated and maintained by a voluntary management committee which receives a small grant from Gateshead Council towards the building’s running costs. Facilities ........ Various rooms, including a large hall (with stage) are available for hire by local groups and businesses on a regular basis or for one-off bookings such as children’s parties, weddings, meetings, public consultations and training sessions or for music events (PRS for Music & PPL licences held).

For bookings and details of hire charges, please ring 0191 4132023 or email us at greensidecommunitycentre@outlook.com The Community Centre also provides a borrow-a-book facility and houses an outreach doctors surgery operated by Crawcrook Medical Centre (open Mon-Fri 9.00am – 12pm) – tel 0191 4132406.
