Gateshead Go Work Live: Helping you move into work
What we do
Do you want to develop skills and confidence to help you move towards work?
We offer free 1:2:1 appointments to help you explore your options or achieve specific goals. Together we work on steps like researching training courses, accessing benefits advice and applying for jobs. Whether you’ve had time out of the job market, are looking for work for the first time or have been made redundant, our support can get you to where you want to be.
We can also help you access a variety of activities like volunteering, jobs fairs and workshops that could help you reach your goals.
Our appointments
In your first appointment with us, we help you to identify your strengths and goals. We can then help you to:
- Improve your Basic Skills in English or Digital Skills
- Access mental or physical health support
- Engage with the benefits system
- Create a CV
- Apply for jobs
- Practice for interviews
- Support you into work
We will work together for up to a year and our appointments can be face to face or virtual, depending on your needs. We have a flexible fund that we can access to purchase things that could help you gain and keep employment, such as interview clothes or tools.
Location
We are based in venues throughout the Gateshead local authority area. If you prefer, you can also have a meeting with us on Teams.
About Us
We have three Key Workers - Natalie, Connor and Michael – and through our partnership with Changing Lives you will be able to meet another two Key Workers employed by them. Our Contract Manager is Antoinette Parkes.
Gateshead Go Work Live is delivered by Education Development Trust and Changing Lives on behalf of Gateshead Council. It is funded through Gateshead Council’s Shared Prosperity Fund by the UK Government.
Who can join
You must be out of work, over 18 years of age, live in the Gateshead Local Authority area, have the right to work in the UK and have a National Insurance number.
Anyone meeting the eligibility criteria can join the programme, but we are specialists in helping those over 50 years of age and those with health barriers or disabilities.
