We want to make sure that everyone is safe when they are self-isolating. Here are some things to think about if you are offered, or need, support:

  • Try to use a family member, friend or neighbour who you know and trust. If not, try to use existing and trusted community and voluntary groups.
  • Not sure? Don't answer the door
  • If you're not sure about an offer of help, ask the person to leave details and talk to someone you trust about it.

Mental Health support in Gateshead

To help people find Mental Health support locally we have put together a Mental Health Support document together which can be downloaded from our Facebook Group (which is open to everyone)

What we are doing…..

Coordinating a trusted community volunteer scheme for people to turn to for help. This will involve picking up shopping, getting urgent supplies, arranging prescriptions/deliveries, offering to do online shops for people, having friendly telephone chats

During the current Corona virus pandemic our regular day clubs at Teams and Bensham Community Care are cancelled.

We are extending our services to offer a hot meal delivery service to any elderly residents of Teams, Dunston, Lobley Hill, Bensham, Saltwell and Central Gateshead.

Available Monday to Friday lunch times. 

Our two course meals and a range of baked goods (pies, quiches, scones etc) are freshly prepared each day in our catering facility which has a 5* hygiene rating by Environmental Health.  Please give our charity a ring on 0191 4600297 to chat to our team.
