Often there are a lot of different people telling you what they think would be best for you. An advocate might be able to help. They will listen to you and find out what YOU want. They will help you to understand what is happening and they will support you to speak up for what you want. If you need them to, they can speak for you at meetings.  They are INDEPENDENT and don't work for the council, health service or care providers. Their job is to speak up for YOU. If you think an advocate might be able to help you ring 0191 4786472 or come down to our drop in. Self Advocacy We support a group called Gateshead People.
