A windband for adult players. We began in the autumn of 2010 with the intention of providing an opportunity for adult players of woodwind and brass instruments to develop together. We now have about 35 members.

Many of our players have begun learning their instrument in just the last few years and had not previously had the opportunity for ensemble playing. Others have returned to playing after a lengthy break... and others are experienced players who enjoy using and sharing their skills.

We meet most Fridays from 7.30 at Life Vineyard Church premises: The Community Centre, Marley Hill.   We play a wide variety of music; enjoy trying new things; and we laugh at our mistakes.  We play for various local charity events and have given public concerts in aid of good causes but our main focus is on enjoying our Friday evenings... not on giving performances.

We don’t hold auditions but members do need some ability to read music.  Players of Grade 4 -5 standard should have no problem fitting in. We currently have... flutes, clarinets, alto saxophones, tenor saxophones, trumpets, tenor and French horns, trombones and tuba. (We'd love to have regular oboe, bassoon, Euphonium and Percussion players... although we do have 'extras' we can call on when performing).

We are happy to welcome new members but there may be a waiting list for some sections- please give us a call or email if you are interested in joining us.

(We have no affiliation to Life Vineyard Church... or to any other other religious organisation.  We aim for inclusivity regardless of religion, race, sexual orientation, disability etc. We only ask that prospective members be adults with their own instruments and having at least a little music-reading ability.  (16-17yr olds admitted at discretion of committee)
