A lit Christingle
Completely Free

Our Christingle Messy Church will be led by our minister, Rev Brigitta Steele. There is just the one craft activity for this session, making a Christingle!

A Christingle is made up of:

  • An orange, representing the world
  • A candle pushed into the centre of the orange, then lit, representing Jesus as Light of the World
  • A red ribbon wrapped around the orange, representing the blood of Christ
  • Dried fruit and small sweets on cocktail sticks pushed into the orange, representing the fruits of the earth and the four seasons

When everyone is ready, we'll go into church for a short Christmas carol service. The lights will be dimmed so your Christingle will really shine! After we've finished our carols, we will have drinks and Christmas snacks waiting for you!

More information about our sessions can be found on our website or on our Facebook page.

Please note that Whitehall Road Methodist Church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of everyone, and so we insist all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will remain on the premises with them at all times.
