We are looking for two - three tremendously talented Trustees.

Meeting four times a year our Trustees bring personal or professional experience and insight, helping shape the future of one of the North East's leading disability charities.

Trustees provide strategic direction for the Charity, safeguarding the Charity for its current and future operations. They ensure the Charity meets its charitable objects and is well-placed to develop and enrich its services and sites. We want to deliver exceptional outcomes for adults with complex learning disability and to attract and retain outstanding staff.

Celebrating 40 years this year, Journey Enterprises provides services for adults with complex learning disability to learn life and work skills, enabling them to lead active, inclusive and fulfilling lives.   We have four sites in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and County Durham which host 170 adults with learning disability aged 18- 82 years weekly.

Chosen by the House of Lords in 2021 for the Parliamentary Review, as one of fifteen organisations delivering best practice in the UK, we are commissioned by six local authorities and the NHS to provide social care Day Services.

Our recent grant awards include the Santander Foundation (£135K), Henry Smith Charity (£166K) and TNL Community Foundation (192K), supporting projects developing our Clients’ digital, financial and employment skills.
