Background to this role

We raise awareness of breast cancer through our public health talks programme. Our talks cover signs and symptoms, myths and misconceptions, the NHS breast screening programme, and what you can do to help reduce your risk of breast cancer.

As a public health talks volunteer, you’ll deliver talks on behalf of Breast Cancer Now, helping us spread our key messages on early detection and prevention, championing our work in communities across the UK.

You’ll receive full training from our public health, inclusion and awareness team so you’re confident to deliver our public health talks. This could be visiting workplaces and community groups to deliver talks in person or online, using platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

This is a flexible role which can be delivered from your home or in your local community, based on your availability.

We’re looking for public health volunteers across the UK, but have a particular need for volunteers based in the West Midlands and North East of England.
