Details

We can support volunteers to apply for their DBS if they do not already have one in place. Volunteers will be asked to fill in a volunteer profile form and provide Equal Arts with two named references.

Have you got a few hours a week to help out at the Pie in the Sky Cafe?

Run by creative ageing charity Equal Arts, the cafe provides breakfasts and lunches to people living at Angel Court Sheltered Housing Scheme and the wider community. 

Alongside the cafe, the charity helps provide weekly creative workshops for people 55+ from the venue.  From helping out in the kitchen, supporting the venue's HenPower project or lending a hand during the artist-run sessions, there's plenty to get involved with.

Skills needed

Meal preparation, good communication, an awareness of health and safety, strong teamwork.

Benefits for the Volunteer

Knowledge of how to help run a working kitchen, experience of supporting creative workshops each week, knowledge of meal preparation, being a part of a community hub, growing food for the kitchen.
