Details

This role is home based. There will be some virtual events but for most, you will be travelling in and around your local area.

The North East has over 14,000 blind or visually impaired people who learn, work and socialise in our community.

Raising awareness of sight loss, the services RNIB offer and opportunities within the local community is a great way to support people with sight loss.

We accept all applications but would especially love to hear from blind and visually impaired volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to give talks about personal experiences as a blind/visually impaired person, delivering information about RNIB services, and providing support at awareness events. Sighted volunteers may also be asked to occasionally guide visually impaired volunteers.

Skills needed

Public speaking experience is preferred but not necessary, as training will be provided.

Benefits for the Volunteer

Volunteer with RNIB and make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people. We have lots of different opportunities for you to develop your skills and knowledge, gain valuable experience and connect with others.
