Can you support a young person and make a real difference?

Odysseus Mentoring Project is active in the North East England supporting children and young people aged 6-25 years old at risk of offending or reoffending.  We provide vital support and guidance to vulnerable and disadvantaged children who may have difficult family or social situations and could face a multitude of problems.

We aim to match the young people with Volunteer Mentors who would meet them on a weekly basis for a maximum of a year.  The Volunteer Mentor would be solely there for the young person to challenge, guide and educate the young person to make better decisions.  Volunteer mentors will be provided with training and support to deliver the volunteer role, will have ongoing support and will be part of a committed team of volunteers.

We require volunteers who are 18 + and interested in being a positive role model in a young person's life.  You would be matched with one young person based on location and personality.

We are community based and so typical meetings include bowling, pool, cinema and fast-food restaurants.  We have a small budget to work around so expenses are reimbursed.
