Media & Events Assistant

NE Paranormal is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and creative person to join us at paranormal investigations, events and special projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the paranormal, photography, video and social media and wants to become part of the NE Paranormal team.

THE ROLE

As our Media & Events Assistant, you will be responsible for capturing the atmosphere, evidence and experiences from our paranormal investigations and events.

You will work alongside the NE Paranormal team, attending selected events and investigations to photograph, film and document what happens.

You will also help maintain the media side of the business between events.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

At paranormal events and investigations:

• Take high-quality photographs throughout investigations and events
• Record video footage for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
• Capture behind-the-scenes footage and event atmosphere
• Record suitable clips for Reels and short-form content
• Assist with recording paranormal evidence where appropriate
• Organise photographs, video footage and investigation recordings
• Ensure important footage is safely backed up
• Capture promotional material for future NE Paranormal events
• Respect the privacy and boundaries of guests and investigators
• Work professionally around potentially sensitive or frightening situations

Digital & social media support:

• Help maintain NE Paranormal's social media presence
• Edit short videos and clips for social media
• Create engaging paranormal content from investigation footage
• Identify interesting photographs, recordings and moments that could become content
• Assist with scheduling and organising content
• Keep the media library organised
• Help build a consistent visual identity across our platforms

THE IDEAL PERSON

You don't need to be a professional filmmaker.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Genuinely interested in the paranormal
• Comfortable attending investigations, including potentially dark or frightening locations
• Confident using a camera or smartphone to capture good-quality footage
• Interested in photography and videography
• Comfortable filming in low-light environments
• Familiar with TikTok, Facebook and Instagram
• Able to edit basic video content
• Reliable and organised
• Comfortable working independently
• Respectful towards guests, investigators and the locations we visit
• Able to keep confidential information private
• Creative and able to spot a good piece of content when they see it

AVAILABILITY

The role will primarily involve attending selected evening and weekend events and investigations.

Some events may involve late finishes, travel and working in unusual or challenging environments.

A willingness to travel within the North East is therefore important.

Any required checks, permissions, confidentiality arrangements and event-specific requirements will be discussed before the person begins working with NE Paranormal.
