Birtley Community Partnership was established in 2002 to promote the benefits of the inhabitants of Birtley by bringing together churches, schools, voluntary groups and businesses within the Birtley area to improve the physical and economic conditions of life in Birtley. The Birtley Hub opened in 2009 and is the base for volunteers.

As well as our great team of volunteers who support people dropping into the Hub for employment support, printing and photocopying, emergency food parcels, community events, we have regular services such as Citizens Advice, Gateshead Council Job Coach, NEFirst Credit union, health and support from Gateshead Recovery Partnership.

There is a small team of a Development Manager with two part time administration staff, 12 volunteers and 3 trustees.

We are looking to recruit further trustees to contribute towards the sustainability and growth of the Partnership and we are very keen to hear from people with skills in Finance, Law, HR, Health & Safety and Policy & Procedures, but we would welcome interest from people with other skills.

Trustees would be expected to attend bi-monthly board meetings with monthly meetings as and when needed, and be willing to devote time to carrying out their role in the Partnership. All roles would be subject to a full DBS check.

Being a trustee is a fulfilling and rewarding role and you would be joining a small friendly team who really do make a difference to the lives of the people in Birtley.
