Volunteers will be able to contact the individual over the telephone, at agreed dates and times that are suitable for them. This is a flexible role and can be picked up and delivered as and when possible.
The role provides telephone support to vulnerable people who have experienced non-criminal incidents of ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour). The support volunteers provide will be over the telephone to nominated individuals.
Volunteers will be provided with a basic mobile 'phone to use during the delivery of this project.
During the project volunteers will provide an informal befriending role and support to the victims of ASB. Volunteers may have experienced an incident themselves and have the time and flexibility to help others who have faced similar situations, or it could be that volunteers just want to help others in need within the community. The project is set up to offer victims the additional support and signposting that they may need.
At the close of each case you will be asked to complete a small evaluation process before you can take on another case.
This is a Gateshead lead volunteer role and fits across both Gateshead and Newcastle Local Authorities.
Friendly and patient,
Impartial and non-judgemental,
