Celebrate the winter season at Baltic with festive shopping, creative activities, a world of contemporary art to uncover, and spotlight exhibition tours to enrich your experience. Shop unique gifts at our Makers Market, join artist-led craft workshops, or relax with a hot drink and make your own gingerbread decoration in our Front Room.

- Gingerbread Making (10am-5pm) A truly wintry tradition for us, enjoy some free gingerbread to decorate and eat whilst you read, chat or relax in Front Room.
- Endless Love Creative Makers Market (10am-5pm) More than 60 art, design and craft stalls offering ceramics, jewellery, textiles, print, illustration, botanicals and homeware, perfect for Christmas shopping. (£2 admission)
- Happy Mart Pop-up Shop A playful mix of gifts and handmade decorative pieces for the home from textile artist Bianco Perry and ceramicist Alex Sickling, who’s work is inspired by finding humour in the everyday.
- Winter Raffle (10am-5pm) Take part in our donation winter raffle throughout the day to raise money towards our #KeepBalticFree campaign. Prizes to be announced soon...
- Young People Takeover (10am-12pm) A free drop-in activity designed by the young people who attend our weekly ArtMix sessions. Led by one of Baltic's Freelance Artist Team, join us to explore ways to be creative this winter using a range of materials.
- Monster Head Plant Pot Workshop (10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm) Join ceramicist and illustrator Lucy Baxendale in a 3-hour workshop, where you will learn a variety of hand-building techniques that will form the basis for your pot. (£40 per person, booking essential - tickets to Makers Market included in price)
- Tree Stories (10.15am 11.15am 12.15am) Discover more about the secret world of trees with a local tree expert, and explore 'Heartwood', an exhibition of five tree prints created from a disc of the felled Sycamore Gap tree’s trunk. Join our storyteller for an engaging woodland tale with a backdrop of prints made from the felled Sycamore gap tree.
- Guided exhibition tours (11.30am 1.30pm 3.30pm) A free, bitesize Spotlight Tour which delves deeper into our current exhibitions. The tours are informal and Baltic Crew share great insights into the artworks on display and the building itself.
- Risograph Printing Workshop (1pm-4pm) - Join Foundation Press for a special workshop creating your own colourful risograph prints to take home. (£45 per person, booking essential - tickets to Makers Market included in price)
