Whickham Hermitage Community Garden is an award-winning Victorian walled garden, providing an oasis in the heart of a bustling village. It's been lovingly restored and renewed by dedicated volunteers and experts. Enjoy a walk around to appreciate the vast array of plants and visit the wildlife pond (the old mini boating lake). See the beautiful bantams and canaries as you walk along the paths! Sam, the rabbit, just looks on quietly! Garden sculptures have been created on-site by local artists; there's a children's playhouse and fairy village for little visitors to enjoy! Look out for exciting new projects in development - including a Sensory Garden!
This free-to-use garden has a beautiful, modern Orangery tearoom which offers very reasonably priced hot drinks, sandwiches, cake and more! From 5th September 2020 will take bookings for Afternoon Tea at £16.95 per person. Booking either via their dedicated email: firstname.lastname@example.org or their own Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/The-Orangery-101086528328327/
Wheelchair accessible paths, tearoom and toilet. Dog-friendly garden and a gazebo to shelter in when necessary.
