About this event

Connected Voice Support and Development helps organisations to run successfully and make a positive difference in their communities. This training is for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations serving Newcastle and Gateshead.

The session will be delivered by Sue Davison, Regional Outreach Adviser (North East), Disclosure and Barring Service. The session will cover:

  • Outlining the role of the Disclosure and Barring Service.
  • What might be disclosed when a DBS check is made.
  • Understanding DBS checks and role eligibility, including levels of check and workforce
  • How “regulated activity” with children and adults is defined and what this means in practice.
  • An organisation’s duties and responsibilities.
  • What leads to an individual being added to the “barred list”.

Not eligible for this session but still interested in attending? We offer bespoke training covering a range of topics. Our sessions can be delivered online using Zoom making them ideal for organisations based across England.
