Networking Event on Social Prescribing and Healthy Communities

If you are a VCSE organisation in Newcastle or Gateshead involved in supporting the health and wellbeing of local communities than this event is for you! We all know the vital contribution that VCSE organisations make to people’s health and wellbeing, and how community-based work can help reach those people most in need of support. Connected Voice are supporting the Integrated Care System to look at how build social prescribing capacity in Newcastle and Gateshead. We are looking at how we can inform health practioners and local organisations better on how to keep people well and tackle health inequalities.

At this event we will hear about:

• What is social prescribing and why it is important
• How social prescribing is delivered in Newcastle and Gateshead
• How the VCSE are involved with keeping people well
• Locality working in Newcastle
• Locality working from Gateshead Edbert’s house

We will have discussion time to hear from the VCSE about how they are supporting the health and wellbeing for communities, and the barriers and issues they face to do this.
