Improving health equality for BAME people and communities

This online training event will give an introduction to our our work to improve health equality for BAME people and communities in Newcastle and Gateshead. It is presented as part of our marking of Stephen Lawrence Day

It will cover:

  1. How the Haref Network works with BAME service providers, community organisations and people to improve health and wellbeing
  2. How the Haref Allies work together to improve inclusivity and accessibility of their organisations and services for BAME communities
  3. An introduction to our BAME Cultural Competency training which enables frontline workers to deliver effective health and wellbeing services to people across local majority and minority ethnic communities
  4. Examples of Haref health initiatives and interventions that have supported health improvement for BAME communities
  5. The impact locally of COVID-19 for BAME communities

Please note: It is NOT intended for existing Haref Network or Haref Allies members organisations or their staff, nor for organisations that have already engaged with our BAME Cultural Competency programme
