Exploring how we can use a community garden space to grow food and use the produce for both eating and creativity.
Through funding from Gateshead Food Partnership we are working with Christine Wright, Royal Horticultural Society, Community Outreach Advisor (North East), to improve an outdoor space at the Shipley and think about how we can use it and the plants we grow in it for the benefit of the community. To be creative, grow food and explore biodiversity for the benefit of peoples health and wellbeing.
From December 2024 to March 2025 we will be running four free sessions run by Christine Wright from RHS and Suzanne Amey from Herb Hub. The sessions are for community workers, museum staff and Shipley user groups to explore how we can work with you and develop the area for the benefit of the community. The sessions are free to attend but we ask people to please book on to confirm attendance.
