Whether you an artist, designer, crafter, producer, curator living in Gateshead, or just have a general interest in art and craft and the cultural world you are welcome to attend.

Children and babies are welcome at this event and is open and inclusive. First Saturdays is a collaboration between the Shipley Art Gallery and Tyne & Wear Cultural Freelancers.

8 January 2021: Paul Raymond

Workshop led by Gateshead based artist Paul Raymond
Paul participated in the Freelands Foundation ‘Make’ residency for artist-educators during the summer of 2021. Participants of the residency were encouraged to respond directly to materials and processes in order to create work without any preconceived ideas of ‘outcome’. He will share some of these processes in this practical and hands on session. The session will include experimental print-making, assemblage and drawing.
