Gateshead’s newest employability programme, brought to you by Society Matters CIC, is here to empower your economically inactive* clients throughout their journey towards employment.

Career Kickstart understands the challenges and barriers that your clients face securing meaningful employment. That’s why we have developed our bespoke training programme designed to uplift economically inactive residents of Gateshead. Helping them to build essential communication skills, boost IT literacy, and skyrocket their confidence to new heights!

 

A pathway to success…

  • Our team of expert trainers and coordinators are dedicated to your success. Whether it’s breaking down physical barriers to employment or providing specialist social welfare advice, we’re with you every step of the way.

What to expect…

  • A transformative journey over five action packed days from 10am to 4pm inside the Davidson Building. They will dive into immersive activities tailored around contact centre jobs while learning key transferable skills sought by all employers. 

 

  • Participants week at a glance 
  • Day 1 - Get acquainted with Citizens Advice Gateshead and dive into the world of GDPR compliance and essential soft skills. 
  • Day 2 - Master effective communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills essential for workplace success.
  • Day 3 - Put their skills into action with engaging group activities, unleashing their problem solving prowess 
  • Day 6 - Gain invaluable insights with a behind the scenes look at life as a contact centre advisor 
  • Day 5 - Elevate their cv, perfect their interview techniques and step into their next opportunty with confidence!

 

  • A gateway to employment…

  • All participants who successfully complete the programme will have a guaranteed interview with Citizens Advice Gateshead, Society Matters or one of our partner organisations. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed, and refreshments will be provided

 

*Economically inactive

This means those aged 16 and over who are not in work, including self-employment, and have not been actively seeking work in the last 4 weeks and are not due to start work in the next 2 weeks. This could include people in the following situations:


Those seeking to return to work following a period of long-term sickness.

Those who have retired but would like to return to the workforce.

Parents who have been out of work due to spending time raising children.

People who would like to return to work following a period of caring for someone.
