The external scrutiny of charity accounts is a legal requirement if your gross annual income is in excess of £25,000. Charities with a gross income that is less than £1million and gross assets less than £3.26 million can choose an Independent Examination instead of an audit of their accounts. The advantage of an Independent Examination is that it is a less intrusive and more specialised to the voluntary sector. As a registered Independent Examiner we are approved under the Charities Act to conduct an independent examination.
We can also prepare income and expenditure statements where required for organisations whose income and assets fall under the above thresholds.
