We are a Heritage site open all year round for visitors and groups, with a 1.5acre site with open areas suitable for family picnics, painting, photography etc.

Our location is approximately  10mins from The Metro Centre and is open 12 months of the year, excluding Christmas week.

The restored building is a C1730's water mill with working machinery. The Mill is located in a tranquil dell, adjacent to wooded walks with picnic facilities and a safe garden area.

Visitors to The Mill can sketch or paint in the peace and quiet, enjoying the natural surroundings of the building and the millpond. It provides an opportunity to escape the hustle of the city and enjoy the views and wildlife whilst appreciating the past. Vintage tractor weekends, heritage weekends, caft fairs, a folk festival and other events are held throughout the year.

Based at Path Head Water, Mill the Vale Hill Trust looks after placements from mental health, autism and education to further social integration and work experience.
