Northumbria Gliding Club

Northumbria Gliding Club is situated at Currock Hill airfield, Near Chopwell. We are a purely voluntary organisation and the club has been going on this site for over 50 Years. We promote the sport of Gliding and offer instruction to anyone, of any background, who would like to learn to fly one of our modern fleet of aircraft. Gliding is not an expensive sport and anyone of any age can learn to fly. We have a Junior section for youngsters from 13 years of age. Juniors are subsidised by the club and flying can be made available at very low cost . Our club is governed by the strict rules of the BGA ( British Gliding Association ) and our instructors are all fully qualified BGA instructors. Gliding is fun and you meet lots of new friends. Come along and take a look at what we do. We operate at weekends and Wednesdays, all day from around 9.30am.
