Connection, conversation and creation – that’s what joining a Men’s Shed is all about. It’s about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
Banishing loneliness and isolation isn’t easy, which is why Men’s Sheds encourages local communities to come together to build, fix and restore – projects as well as themselves. And it’s a great way of being more physically active!
We are part of the Men's Shed Association - a nationwide organisation that aims to provide workshop and social facilities, where people can share skills, stories and engage in practical activities. View website at www.menssheds.org.uk
We are just a small group who enjoy a bit of company and making things - mostly out of wood. We meet Monday’s 10.00am to 12.00 noon at the The Barn in Blackhall Mill (32 Peartree Terrace Blackhall Mill NE17 7TW) to carry out our work. We also meet on a Tuesday 10.00am to 12.00 noon at Chopwell Community Centre, Derwent Street, Chopwell, NE17 7HS, during the coffee morning to put the world to rights!
