Foundation 4 Work, delivered by the Foundations Furniture charity, offers work experience opportunities in a warehouse and retail setting where unemployed Gateshead residents can gain many of the employability skills that employers are looking for.

In addition, we have free one-to-one support to give you everything you need write a winning CV and application form, search for jobs online, attend interviews with confidence or become self-employed.

Founded in 2021, we are a group of local Parents, Grandparents and volunteers working together within our local community to reduce uniform poverty and clothes going to landfill unnecessarily.

We accept donations of all good quality goods that can be re-used whether school branded or not.

Happy to Help are providing reassuring support to hundreds of older people and people with disabilities in their own homes across Gateshead.

The community home help team, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, provides weekly or twice-weekly visits to look after the domestic tasks such as:-

  • Cleaning
  • Shopping
  • Prescription collection
  • Pension collection
  • Bill paying

Each customer chooses the tasks they’d like help with, leaving them in full control over their home care support package, with the freedom to change the tasks as and when they want to.
