Help health and social care services recover from COVID-19

Two-thirds of people in England say they are more likely to act to improve health and social care services since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Although our NHS and social care services are doing everything that they can to support you and your loved ones, they need our help to know how they can improve.

How do people feel about services since COVID-19?

New research from the Care Quality Commission and Healthwatch England shows that 57% of people in the North East say they are more likely to take steps to improve health and social care services since the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Polling shows that:

  • People are more grateful for the health and care services they receive — particularly GP and hospital services — since the outbreak.
  • 56% of people in the North East said they would be more willing since COVID-19 to support NHS and social care services by actively providing feedback on their care.
  • 28% of people in the North East are now more likely to donate or fundraise for a relevant health cause.

Join our campaign #BecauseWeAllCare to help services identify and, more importantly, address issues people are experiencing with their care. You can get involved with #BecauseWeAllCare by telling us your views about how health and social care support can be improved.

“As health and care services recover from the COVID-19 pandemic it is vital that they listen and be willing to change and improve to meet their service users’ needs. Therefore, Healthwatch Gateshead is really pleased to see a majority of Gateshead residents are willing to be active by feeding back their experiences as service users or carers.”
