Help available to complete your census
In Gateshead four libraries have been set up as Census Support Centres to help people to complete their form or to offer help with any questions you may have. They can complete the census return over the phone on someone's behalf if they don't have the technology or skills to allow them to do it online. Or they can arrange for a paper copy of the form to be posted out to them. They can also give advice of where you can information in different languages and in accessible formats including large print.
Our Census Support Centres are open from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday from Monday 1 March until Tuesday 4 May for telephone support.

What is the Census?
The census is a unique survey that happens every 10 years. The next Census Day is Sunday 21 March 2021.
It gives us a snapshot of all the people and households in England and Wales, the most detailed information we have about our society.
It's important that you fill in your census questionnaire. The information you share helps to understand your community's needs and to plan and fund public services. By taking part, you can help inform decisions on services that shape your community, such as healthcare, education and transport in England and Wales.
Because these things matter to us all, everyone needs to complete the census.
You can complete your form online as soon as you get your access code in the post. If your household circumstances change on Census Day, you can let the ONS know.
