The Gateshead Housing Company Community Fund is now open for applications!

The fund, delivered in partnership with Community Foundation and Gateshead Council, offer’s grants up to £5,000 in cash for a specified project or activity, or services worth up to £10,000 for practical work
Who can apply?
Applications are welcomed from voluntary organisations and charities that are based in, or work in, the borough of Gateshead which have not had a grant from this fund in the last twelve months and which had an annual income, in the most recently completed financial year, of £50,000 or under.
Applications should be made using the Community Foundation’s online application process.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 25 November 2019.
What can be funded?
The Community Foundation funds activity that helps people overcome disadvantage, creates stronger communities, and makes our area a good place to live.
Helping people overcome disadvantage
 •Mitigating the impact of welfare reform;
•Tackling financial exclusion;
•Tackling digital exclusion;
•Addressing issues around fuel and food poverty;
•Building the resilience of individuals;
•Promoting mental health;
•Supporting refugees and asylum seekers;
•Improving the health and wellbeing of young people;
•Improving the health and wellbeing of older people.
 Creating stronger communities
 •Supporting community groups who are undertaking an asset transfer;
•Raising awareness of, preventing and responding to hate crime.
 Making Gateshead a better place to live
 •Actively promoting volunteering as a way to bring people together and deliver services.
In all cases at least one-third of people supported by the projects / organisations that we fund must be tenants of The Gateshead Housing Company. This should be clearly stated in the application.
