The Christmas season is a time of joy and giving, but for many households, it can also be a time of hardship.
As the temperatures drop and the cost of living increases, some Gateshead households will struggle this winter, especially when they are experiencing crisis and they need essential but expensive household items, such as beds for themselves or their children, a sofa to sit on, and somewhere to safely keep their belongings.
That's why we are launching a special Christmas furniture appeal to help those in need in our community.
One of the most pressing needs right now is for single beds for children, sofas and bedroom furniture. Many households are going without the essential items they need, which means they are struggling with uncomfortable home lives, with insufficient or broken furniture.
By donating your unwanted, gently-used furniture to our Christmas appeal, you can help households in Gateshead to create a comfortable and welcoming home environment for themselves and their loved ones this Christmas, and remove the long-term emotional and financial burden they would otherwise face without support from charities like ours.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, but if you are in a position to help, we urge you to consider making a furniture donation to our Christmas appeal. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of those who are struggling this winter.
Our charity collects furniture and electrical items free of charge every weekday (excluding bank holidays) in and around Tyne and Wear. Collections are always free, and we can usually collect within just a few days! Call our charity on 0191 477 8337 and we'll take you through our quick and simple donation process.
Foundations is the only furniture charity in Gateshead with the sole purpose of tackling furniture poverty, so you can have peace of mind that every item is used in a way that helps a local household affected.
