High Spen Community Group

High Spen Community Group was formed in July 2014, because of a feeling that we needed to bring our village together. We are a small village on the outskirts of Gateshead, and we currently have no community centre. We meet from time to time to arrange fund raising events and to discuss issues that we would like to resolve. Our main aim is to raise enough funds to build a new community centre, but in the meantime we are tackling issues such as litter, speeding and a dangerous junction in High Spen.
