Helper service - Gateshead

Marie Curie Helper service – Tyne & Wear You can light up someone's life. Volunteer with us and be there for someone living with a terminal illness. We’re always looking for Helper volunteers in the Gateshead and surrounding areas.

Are you aged 18 or over? can you give 3 hours each week to chat to people over a cup of tea, help them get to an appointment, run an errand or just be there as a friendly ear?

Our service offers support 7 days per week anytime between 9.00 am and 9.00 pm. By becoming a Marie Curie Helper volunteer, you would be offering valuable emotional and practical support to help people affected by a terminal illness get the most from the time they have left.

We’ll give you extensive training before you start and you’ll receive on-going support throughout your time volunteering. Have a chat with us first to find out if this role is for you.
