Whickham and District U3A

Welcome to Whickham U3A's web page. The U3A's new moto is Learn, laugh, live. The organisation is for people no longer in full time employment. There is no age limit.  

Use some of your leisure time to socialize with like minded people through group activities, learn and help others do the same. 

Our local organisation has over 200 members from the area around Whickham including Blaydon, Dunston, Lobley Hill, Marley Hill, Winlaton, Winlaton Mill, Sunniside and Rowlands Gill.   We have 19 interest groups, so there's something for everyone!

A local organisation with many different learning and social activities. About our group As a member of Whickham U3A you can join as many of our 20 interest and activity groups as you like. These include two walking groups ranging from ambling to walking; there is a craft group, plus genealogy, sight and sound, video editing, tai chi, keep fit, line dancing, men's group, carpet and indoor bowls, whist, coach travel group and much more! Groups meet anything from weekly to monthly, either in houses or community venues. Outside of these groups there are also monthly general meetings and monthly coffee mornings.

Our membership is open, there is an annual fee of £15 and a small charge for attendance at monthly meetings. The subject groups are self financing - members contribute to costs of refreshments or venue hire.
