~~Angling 4 All’ is a user led angling club for people with disabilities who attend some of the services provided by Gateshead Council’s Adult Provider Services. Members have either learning, physical disabilities or enduring mental health problems. With support members have the opportunity to fish in the domains of game fishing, sea fishing and coarse fishing. Angling offer our members structured activities, that are educational, fulfilling, and raise the self esteem and confidence of people, as well as having fun. This in turn helps break down some of the barriers towards people with disabilities by portraying a can do attitude, that angling can be taken up by anyone should the right support be available. We are currently fishing at various locations across the region; these include Leaze’s Park, The Baltic riverside, Derwent, Fontburn and Kielder reservoirs. Angling 4 All hold regular ‘taster’ sessions throughout the year to encourage people to take up angling as a sport. For more information please get in touch
