Could You Be A Volunteer for Bowes Railway? Thanks to their kind assistance, volunteers play an essential role in the day to day running of the Bowes Railway site. Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and help to preserve this scheduled ancient monument. The Heritage Lottery are investing in Bowes Railway to maintain its heritage assets and enable the development of the museum. This includes delivery of a host of fun activities and opportunities for local community residents and visitors to the site. we have a range of courses starting in Jan 2016 for men and women of all ages and abilities. Opportunities include: Basic woodwork and Machine Skills, Track Work and Engineering, Becoming A Tour Guide, Conservation and gardening.
