Bill Quay Community Farm Association

Bill Quay Community Farm is a treasured green space in the East of Gateshead. It was opened in 1986 as partnership between the Bill Quay Community Farm Association and Gateshead Council. Together, the farm team transformed this 25-acre site from dereliction into a thriving community leisure project.   Much of the work to restore the natural heritage to one of the greenest banks on Tyneside, has been achieved by volunteers. The farm is also an education centre- delivering land based courses in association with East Durham College. Since July 2013 the farm has been operated as a charity on a not-for-profit basis solely by the Bill Quay Community Farm Association. It relies on donations as a major funding source.   Farming for the fun of it, learning, food and wellbeing, there is always something going on at the farm.  We have award winning Tamworth pigs and rare Castlemilk Moorit sheep and Bagot goats as well as many more animals to come and see.
