Bheith Ann Community Counselling Service
THE FELLING IRISH ASSOCIATION
BHEITH ANN (“Being There”)
Community Counselling Service
For Residents in Felling and the wider Gateshead Area
The Felling Irish Association will launch its much-heralded and much-needed Community Counselling Service in mid-January. The name of the service is “Bheith Ann”, which is Irish Gaelic for “Being There”. This is a Free Counselling Service that is available to any resident in the Felling and wider Gateshead area.
The counselling will take place at a number of venues in Felling and central Gateshead, and will be delivered by a team of trained, professional counsellors. We currently have ten counsellors (both male and female) who are completing their induction training through The Felling Irish Association.
The service will focus particularly on Bereavement & Grief, Trauma, Relationship Issues, Loneliness, Anxiety and Bullying. But, it has sufficient expertise and knowledge within its team to deal with a host of other issues.
The counselling is covered by specialist professional insurance, is delivered in accordance with BACP & NCS Codes of Practice, and supervised in accordance with BACP & NCS Codes of Supervisory Practice. It will be delivered either on a face-to-face basis (social distance and precautions taken at all venues) or over the phone.
BHEITH ANN will be co-ordinated by Neil Campbell BA PgDip DipBC MA FNCS, who is a senior accredited counsellor, and one of the North-East’s leading practitioners in Grief, Post-Trauma, Relationship, Stress and Bullying counselling.
If anyone wants to find out more about Bheith Ann itself and its launch, or how to refer anyone to the service, you can contact either Des Costello (Chair of The Felling Irish Association and Bheith Ann) on 07849189934, or Neil Campbell (Bheith Ann Co-ordinator) on 07903239983.
